We highly recommend becoming members of the Homeschool Legal Defense Association. For a reasonable yearly fee you support their efforts in advocating for free homeschooling laws in every state and you have quick access to attorneys to help guide you should you run into problems. FAIRSD is in regular contact with our region's attorney, Kevin Boden and we couldn't do what we do without their support.

It's important to remember why you are homeschooling, and remember your homeschool probably won't and probably shouldn't look anything like public school. We're incredibly lucky to live in South Dakota and all the freedoms we have, make the most of them!
Curriculum options are endless. Some of the world's greatest experts have put their lectures online for free. You can buy prepackaged, open and go sets or you can put your own together, or opt for online. It's important to find out the way your child learns best. Ask them, then go from there.
